Richard Donavon Lofton, age 57 of Joplin, passed away at 2:00pm
Thursday, January 25, 2011 at his home after a long illness.
Born January 15, 1954 in Joplin, he was the son of the late Walter Othello “Bill” Lofton and Nyla Marie Squyres Lofton and was a lifetime Joplin resident.
A graduate of Joplin High School, he served four years in the U.S. Navy and
worked 25 years for Missouri Gas Energy.
He loved fishing, hunting, and the outdoors.

     A brother, Steven Michael Lofton, preceded him in death in 1975.

     Survivors include a nephews, James Lofton and wife Julie of Joplin; aunts,|
Dorothy Johnston of Joplin, Betty Henry and husband Roscoe of Joplin; cousins,
Jane Brown of Joplin, Virginia Hoyt of Neosho, MO, and
Dick Scurlock of Kansas City, MO.

       Memorial contributions may be made to the Missouri Conservation Heritage Foundation in care of the mortuary.
